Here's a few drawings from the model I did recently. I'm messing around a bit with colored pencils and whatever else happens to be on hand. The more developed drawings are in the 15-20 minute range. I'll also be posting some paintings that I'm working on soon.

Nosferatu?

Well it's been a while so I guess I should get something up here... This is not a finished piece but a painting I did that was quickly altered in photoshop, I'll post the final when its done. It's not meant to be Nosferatu but if you ask me it looks a bit like him.

A few recent figure studies. Actually the one in ball point is just a sketch from memory. The color piece was done using black, burnt sienna and hansa yellow, it was a 20 minute pose. I forgot all my other paints.

Here is some recent figure stuff I did. Two are 10-20 minute acrylics and a drawing in black and red pencil. The model was shifting quite a bit so I had to work fast.

Here are some recent figure drawings I did. The first two are fast 2-3 minute ones and the second two are about 15 minutes. I noticed a problem with the left leg on the third one up after I took the photos. With more time I would of corrected it, what can you do. I tried to go a little more tonal than I would normally on that one.

Jamie I and II

A couple of paintings I did of a model named Jamie. Each I spent about 1.5 hous on. I usually go to a sketch group a couple times a month, and do not really end up with finished paintings . These 2 are about as finished as they get.

In the first one she is expecting and in the second she has just had her baby.

I first was introduced to this writing by MF Doom on The Doomilation(bootleg) CD. One of the best rap CD's out there, but that's besides the point. It it a quote from the Playwright William Saroyan. Good stuff.

In the time of your life, live—so that in that good time there shall be no ugliness or death for yourself or for any life your life touches. Seek goodness everywhere, and when it is found, bring it out of its hiding place and let it be free and unashamed.

Place in matter and in flesh the least of the values, for these are the things that hold death and must pass away. Discover in all things that which shines and is beyond corruption. Encourage virtue in whatever heart it may have been driven into secrecy and sorrow by the shame and terror of the world. Ignore the obvious, for it is unworthy of the clear eye and the kindly heart.

Be the inferior of no man, or of any men be superior. Remember that every man is a variation of yourself. No man's guilt is not yours, nor is any man's innocence a thing apart. A painting I started last night. I'm still working on it although I think I may have to start over. At one point I was working on it while holding Max. Thats a little tricky.

Elric ink drawing

An ink drawing I did of Elric finishing off some poor bastard. It started out as black & white piece but then I added some color. I've been reading online talk of a possible Elric movie so I guess he was on my mind. I always liked those books, the original 6 that is. Please excuse the poor photo quality, I'm still trying to get that down.
